Foundations for Childhood

Uniquely You, Uniquely Me!
Uniquely You, Uniquely Me! is a heartwarming and inclusive picture book that celebrates the beautiful diversity of how children experience the world. With vibrant illustrations and gentle, affirming storytelling, this book shines a light on the many ways neurodivergent children think, feel, move, and play—whether they seek stillness or stimulation, routine or adventure.
Designed to foster self-acceptance and build empathy, Uniquely You, Uniquely Me! helps children understand that every brain is unique. Even when two people share the same diagnosis—like autism, ADHD, or AuDHD—their needs, strengths, and ways of being can be completely different. And that’s not just okay—it’s something to celebrate.
This story reassures children that there is no single “right” way to be. Whether a child loves to spin in circles, line up their toys, or curl up with a book in a quiet corner, they are worthy of understanding, respect, and joy—just as they are.
Perfect for parents, educators, and therapists, this book is a powerful tool for teaching children about neurodiversity, inclusivity, and the importance of embracing each person’s unique perspective. Uniquely You, Uniquely Me! belongs in every home, classroom, and therapy room, offering an uplifting message that every child deserves to feel seen, valued, and celebrated.
Why I Wrote Uniquely You, Uniquely Me!
As a neurodivergent parent and therapist, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful it is when children feel truly seen and accepted for who they are. I wrote Uniquely You, Uniquely Me! to help children understand that their unique way of experiencing the world is not only okay—it’s something to be celebrated. This book was born from a deep desire to create a story where all children, especially those who are neurodivergent, can recognise themselves in the pages. It’s a love letter to every child who has ever felt different, reminding them that they are not alone, and that there is beauty, strength, and magic in being exactly who they are.
